Spooking Shay Page 4

“Gonna fill you up so good,” I growled, withdrawing my hand and grabbing him by the thighs. He spread them wide, his gold eyes bright with desire. I guided my aching dick to his entrance, rubbing my cockhead up and down his crack, coating myself with his slick.

I pushed past the tight ring of muscle, sinking in deep. His head fell back against the forest floor on a low moan. He grabbed two big handfuls of his black hair and squeezed. “Oh… Oh. You’re big. Shit, you feel fucking amazing, D. Fuck!”

When I’d fully sheathed myself in his hot body, he wrapped his legs around my waist and rolled his hips. This time, I was the one who moaned. I pulled back slowly, and that first smooth, tight glide of my cock driving back into him drove us both crazy. Shay gasped and grabbed at my arms. I snapped my hips back and forwards once more. He yipped in pleasure, his head thrown back and his mouth open.

“Shit. Fuck. Yes. More,” he keened, and fuck if it wasn’t nearly enough to make me blow. I grunted and pumped into him, watching his face pinch with pleasure. Our stomachs rubbed together with each thrust, his cock pinned between us. He whimpered and reached for me, clutching at my hair. I leaned in to kiss him.

“Too hard?” I panted, not wanting to hurt him.

“No, no. It’s so good, oh my god. I love you…” I wasn’t sure he knew what he was saying in that moment, but I didn’t care—I already knew that Shay loved me. I knew it with every fiber of my being. Two more gasping breaths and he came, shooting between our bellies and shuddering hard. It tipped me right over the edge.

Crying out his name, I buried my cock in his body with one last, hard thrust. His tight ass stretched around my swelling knot. Shay whimpered, but it morphed into a broken moan when my fangs sunk into the bend of his neck. “Mine.”

His body snapped rigid as another wave of pleasure washed over him. He knotted his hand in my hair and yanked me down for a kiss. Then, without hesitation, he bit me back. My hips jerked, making us both gasp out at the tug and pull of our tied bodies. Another jet of hot cum filled my mate and we both collapsed on the ground, sweaty and spent.

“Oh, fuck. I can’t believe that really happened,” he whispered to the moonlit sky.

“You mean the sex part?” I teased. “Or the claiming part? Or…?”

“All of the parts.” He turned luminous golden eyes on me, and I could see the hope glistening in their depths. “This is real, right? We’re really… You’re really mine? My mate? My Alpha?”

  My heart squeezed.

“It’s real,” I promised him. “Forever, for however long forever is. I’ve loved you since the very first day I saw you. I knew then, I think. I knew that someday, you’d be mine.” I kissed him, my lips brushing against his, loving the tingle that shot down my spine at the gentle caress. His breath caught and I knew he felt it too. We were right for each other, there was no other answer. “I want a life with you, Shay. I want marriage and babies and a puppy with you.”

A tear dripped down his cheek. “You want babies with me?”

“Babies with your eyes and my smile. With your wit and charm, and my devastatingly handsome good looks.” I winked and he giggled, swatting at my shoulder.

  “God, I love you…”

“Good,” I said, and kissed him once more for good measure. “Because you’re stuck with me now. We should probably go home so we can clean up.” Shay’s blush crept down his neck, but he was grinning like he’d just won the lottery. My soul felt happy, and so did my wolf. Finally. All was right in the world. “Now what do you say to round two in the shower and a horror movie marathon?”

“That sounds like the best Halloween ever.”

  Epilogue: Shay

I paced the tiny cube of our bathroom, my socks swooshing over the tile with each step. I could barely keep myself from jumping up and down or bouncing from foot to foot, not wanting to upset the precious cargo sitting on the back of the toilet tank.

Five minutes was a goddamn eternity when it came to the unknown.

I bit my lip. Nerves bubbled inside of me, just like that time I shook a bottle of soda and I could see the fizz popping and hissing inside the plastic. Yeah. That was me. A carbonated mess ready to explode the minute you unscrewed the cap.

Sticking my hands beneath my armpits, I waited.

I wanted this. I wanted it so much it hurt. Donovan was the most amazing boyfriend I’d ever had—good thing, since we were mated, huh?—and trust me, I’d had many. He was the kindest, gentlest Alpha I knew and I was proud to call him mine.

I’d been so worried that something would change between us if we took our relationship to the next level, but to be honest? We were already going through the motions. The only thing that really changed was the fact that now, I got to wake up beside my best friend every morning, and fall asleep cuddled up next to him at night. We still had our date-nights. We still played video games and binge-watched Netflix. We still did everything together and yes, I still painted his toenails after a self-proclaimed spa day.

  It was nice.

We’d been sort of letting the pieces fall as they may, and I was pretty sure I was pregnant, but I didn’t want to say anything until I was sure. The three little sticks I’d just peed on would tell me my fate in about…oh…right about now.

Holding my breath, I swallowed my nerves and picked up one of the tests.

  Positive.

I bit my tongue to keep from shrieking and grabbed the others. My chest swelled with an overwhelming mixture of joy and terror. My heart thudded so hard in my ears I could barely hear myself think, but three pregnancy tests couldn’t be wrong, right?

Squealing, I threw open the bathroom door and sprinted down the hall. I jumped and bounced and danced all the way into the kitchen, where Donovan was cooking a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches. I bounded over to him, nervous and excited and jittery, like I’d drank two Red Bulls and chased them with a couple shots of espresso.

He spun to face me, surprise on his face. “Shay? What’s wrong? I heard you scream. Did you see another spider?”

I squeaked and thrust the test stick out. “I’m pregnant.”

  His jaw went slack. “What?”

“We’re gonna be daddies.” I swallowed, praying that he wanted this as much as I did. I wanted it so badly. For a moment, he just stared at me, his dark eyes wide and imploring and I knew what I said hadn’t quite registered. I slowly reached up and cupped his stubbly face in both my hands, then leaned up on my tiptoes to kiss him. “We’re gonna have a baby.”

  His throat worked. “For real?”

I smiled. “For real. Is that okay?”

Sunshine glinted off the crystal hanging in the window, splashing Donovan’s face with a prism of color. The corners of his lips twitched, hitching up higher and higher until his grin was as bright and as brilliant as the sun. Letting out a shaky exhale, he threw his arms around me. I squealed again and burrowed my face in the crook of his neck, letting myself be enveloped in his warm embrace.

“I love you so much, Shay. So fucking much, and I’m gonna prove it to you.”

“You don’t have to prove it, baby. I feel it here.” I guided his hand to my heart, wondering if he could feel the way it fluttered for him and him alone. “I’m ready for our next chapter.”

His smile lit up my entire world.
